Today (or tomorrow, depending on when you read this), we’re celebrating Independence Day in the U.S.. This year I’ve thought of a different sort of way to observe the occasion. I hope you enjoy ![]()
I wish a happy and safe Independence Day to my U.S. readers!

Lovely post Margot. A happy and safe Independence Day to you.
José Ignacio – Thank you
– And thanks for the good wishes!
That was great! Have a happy fourth!
Patti – Awww… thanks
– Happy Fourth to you, too!
Happy Fourth of July to a California Girl.
Why, thank you, Norman!
Margot: I have been thinking. Considering where you have lived are you an East Coast Girl or a Mid-West Girl or a California Girl?
I hope you have an excellent Fourth. When I visited my South Dakota cousins for the Fourth quite a few years ago my strongest memories of everyone celebrating with fireworks. Is that part of your day?
Bill – The truth? My address is California; my home is the East Coast. Interesting question, though, because I have lived in several different parts of the country.
Thanks very much for the good wishes. Fireworks have always been a part of the Fourth for me – they can be beautiful. Where I live now is in wildfire country, so there are very carefully restricted displays, and all of them are usually out on a lake or at the beach. It’s beautiful to see them reflected on the water.
Loved it. Have a great 4th!
Peter – Why thank you
– Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the good wishes!
Very nice tribute to the women of crime. And a good song to go with it. It’s bringing back memories of my living in Boston in the summer of 1966 and we listened to this song and California Dreaming by The Mamas and The Papas, who did it so well with such good harmony, as we thought about life and our futures.
To peace on earth and brotherhood and sisterhood on this day.
Kathy – Oh, I loved the Mamas and the Papas and that wonderful harmony! And yes, the Beach Boys could harmonise like few other bands could. I’m glad the song brought back good memories for you. Happy Independence Day to you!
Great video Margot – you are very talented!
Why, thank you, Sarah
*blush*
Very clever – as always. Wishing you and yours a lovely Independence Day
Bernadette – Thanks for the kind words *blush* and the good wishes
Happy 4th July, Margot!
Thank you very much, Maxine
That was very, very, very cool. I am so glad I stopped by today. That made my day.
Tracy – Why, thank you!
