We’ll Take a Cup of Kindness Yet…

Auld Lang SyneAnother year has come and gone. It’s hard to believe that we’re already starting a new year. Some good things happened this year and we had some blows, too – some harder than others. But we made it to the New Year and that’s a good thing.

I wish for all of you a very good 2013. May it be peaceful, happy and prosperous with all that that means.

Here’s to those who’ve left us. Here’s to all of you.

Happy New Year, All!

  6. A lot of bad stuff happened this year including Newtown and the horrific gang-rape, and subsequent death, of a 23-year old girl in a Delhi public transport bus, a brutal and shocking incident that brought the entire nation out on the streets, now in collective mourning. An emerging economy like India does not value its women: this was the single message of the atrocity and government apathy, which resulted in unprecedented public condemnation and ire that has forced the government to plan stringent laws and action against rapists and molesters. The sad event received wide coverage in the US media with one paper claiming (rightly) that India does not care for its women.

A few wrongs can result in many rights and I am hoping that the new year is kinder, safer and more compassionate for women and children all over the world. They deserve better.

Ms. Kinberg, a very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to you and your family! Thank you for a most wonderful blog and enhancing my knowledge of crime-fiction in leaps and bounds. I hope you and everyone on this page have a great year ahead.

    • Prashant – Thank you for the good wishes and kind words. You’re quite right about some of the bad things that happened this year. It’s been so heartbreaking to follow the news about that poor student who was murdered in India. I honestly don’t have the right words but I wish her family peace and healing. And I hope that people use what happened to grow and do things better rather than simply point fingers and do nothing. I hope the same thing for what happened at Newtown. May 2013 be a year of commitment to doing things better as a society. And to you and your family, all the very best for 2013 and always.
